BoB is a fundraising event, organised by Chennai Mission and CIOSA, to support NGOs in Tamil Nadu. Close to 3,000+ Chennaiites attended the event, by donating for the NGO’s they support.
Restaurateur, Oriental Cuisines Managing Director and Founder of Chennai Mission M. Mahadevan organised ‘ Battle of Buffet’ to help 70 plus NGO’s in fund raising.
The 9th edition of Battle of the Buffet (BoB) was held on October 1st & 2nd 2017 at Lady Andal School, Harrington Road, Chennai. It was a 2 days fun filled gala event with great food, fantastic live music by Shri. Hariharan. There was a Lavish Dinner and entertainment organised for Donors in the evening on both days.
Seva Mela – A special event was also organized to bring people, from all walks of life together to get involved with a cause(s) of their choice.
Vaishnavi trust participated in the ‘Battle of Buffet 2017’ organized by Chennai Mission Trust and CIOSA. With large-hearted contributions from donors, we could sell 100 Tickets for the event and the proceeds would help us to fund the scheme for 400 children in a year.
In the Seva Mela event, We had the opportunity to showcase our trust activities and its benefits for the children to the general public. The event was well attended by leading personalities from Tamil Nadu like Minister Mr. Pandiyarajan, Ms. Kanimozhi (MP) and actor Surya and appreciated the trusts’ efforts.
We had also invited 30 children from Sarvodaya Girls Hostel to participate in the fun events in the Grand Seva Mela. Vaishnavi Trust sponsored for the games and refreshments for these children. The children were thrilled to see Actor Surya and enjoyed the day with us.
Based on the positive impact created among the visitors, few NGO’s were selected to receive BoB 2017 project grant. Vaishnavi Trust was one among the few to be awarded with the special Project fund.
Overall, the BOB 2017 event helped Vaishnavi Trust to raise funds as well as showcase our work to a larger number of people.
