Vaishnavi Welfare and Charitable Trust started a new Jeevani Milk Project in Tirunelveli District at Udavum Ullangal on 8th December 2018. The milk is distributed to all the 46 children in the home, consisting of 30 girls in the age group of 6-18 and 16 boys in the age group of 6-10 years.
Udavum Ullangal is a Non Profit and non-religious organization committed and inclined towards the welfare of the community with special emphasis and focus on children. Udavum Ullangal was started in 2002 with the main intention to reach out to very deserving and needy children like Semi Orphans, Deserved, Destitute, Abandoned and Children of HIV Affected.
Mr.S.Dhamodaran, M.A., B.L., M.S.W,,M.Phil., a very well known Social Worker and Activist is the founder of Udavum Ullangal. He is deeply committed and rooted towards the welfare of children, women and children in crisis situations and provides Legal Assistance through the Family Counselling Centre. Realizing the importance of Education he has given much importance to provide quality education for the children in the home and all children are enrolled in very good nearby schools like R.C Primary School.
Dr Logadevi from Dhanwantri is the consultant Doctor for this Project. Doctor carried out a complete diagnosis of all children prior to starting the Milk Scheme. Criteria such as age, height, weight and general health was checked for all kids.
Vaishnavi Trust has organised for daily supply of Desi cow’s milk from Annayar Organic farm. Everyday Children are given fresh farm Milk mixed with Ammukura Churnam under the guidance of the doctor.
Mr Dhamodaran said, “Within 45 days of administration of the Jeevani Milk Project, immunity power of children has improved and they are found to be more active in playing sports and everyday activities”.
